Position Vacant – Senior Men’s Coach (Playing or Non-Playing) 2019/20 Season

The Glenroy Cricket Club seeks applications for the position of Senior Men’s Coach for the 2019/20 season.

Our club has a history of over 100 years and includes the history of both Glenroy Amateurs Cricket Club and Socials Cricket Club. The club is driven by success which is evident in our 1st XI seniors making the Grand Final and earning the club’s promotion into a higher grade.

Throughout the other grades, our 2nd XI seniors were highly competitive all season with, unfortunately, just missing out on their Grand Final, and our 3rd XI seniors had a solid season with a lot of our talented young players fielding the side.

We seek a coach who shares the club’s ambition for success, commitment, off-field club support and who will provide the leadership, direction, education & coaching required for the continuation of our growth and development.

The successful applicant will report to the club’s Executive Committee. You will be responsible for the coaching, development, and management of our Men’s Senior Program and play a large role in identifying & blooding our youth through strong junior program.

Our 4 senior men’s teams currently comprise of 3 x turf teams in the VTCA – 3 x 2-day sides (1st XI team competing in the Tony Isaacs Shield-Division 1 North Shield) and a 1-day side in the NWMCA competition.

Key criteria includes:

  • Significant playing and/or coaching experience (Premier, VTCA more senior divisions or Sub-District preferred)
  • Minimum Level 1 however preferred Level 2 coaching qualification preferred
  • Strong people skills

  • Communication & organisational skills
  • Player development focus
  • Ability to commit to all training sessions and games
  • Motivate players to attend all club functions
  • Strong leadership with professional attitude
  • Excellent communication
  • Prepare preseason and in season training sessions
  • Ability to mentor and teach to improve players of all abilities
  • Maximize club culture & player development
  • Ability to mix within a family orientated club
  • Ability to identify and improve player development across all grades

Remuneration will be negotiable and will be determined by the successful applicant’s level of experience and qualification.
